Are You Being Asked to Do More?
If you work in a library, you know that budgets are tightening under economic pressure. Tight budgets lead to staff cuts and staff cuts lead to remaining staffers having to take on more responsibilities. Many are being asked to take on tasks where they have little or no experience—paraprofessionals are being asked to do reference; catalogers are being asked to run programs and so on.
Taking on new job responsibilities can be daunting. In this month’s episode of American Libraries Live, I will be a member of a panel that will help you learn how to slow down, stay calm and learn. Join us on Thursday, April 13th from 1-2pm Eastern and learn how an old librarian can learn new tricks!
